Canon's Interlocking Lens Caps Are a Usability Delight15 Sep 2008
A few days ago I fitted a new lens to my digital SLR camera. I removed the rear lens cap of the new lens and put it down next to the body cap of the SLR. After fitting the lens, I wanted to keep both lens caps together. I picked them up and wondered if one would fit inside the other. Not only did the smaller lens cap fit into the larger one, turning both lens caps in opposite directions locked them together. I enjoy discovering this kind of good design. It not only gives one a sense of satisfaction at the discovery, but it shows that the designers were thinking of me and what I would do next after using their product.
