AppleStores Give First Generation iPads a New Lease of Life

Next to every iMac, MacBook, iPhone, iPod and iPad in my local AppleStore is a product information card. Each card is safely housed in a perspex display case and lists the products’ price and specifications. That is, until the introduction of the iPad 2.

On my most recent visit, I noticed that inside each perspex case was a first generation iPad. Each iPad was running an interactive product information app, which is a big improvement over the old static information cards. This is also a great example of technology recycling. However, I did wonder how, if machines could feel, a first generation iPad would feel after being relegated from product spotlight to displaying information for the iPad 2 that replaced it.
